Therapy for cross-cultural adults who are tired of holding it all together.
Trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapy for expats, third-culture individuals, and anyone navigating identity, life transitions, anxiety, and grief — in Singapore and online.
About me
Hi - i am Sapna
I'm a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Singapore — and I know from the inside what it's like to be the person everyone else leans on, while quietly carrying more than you let on.
I grew up in the UK in an Indian family with roots in Africa, and have lived across three continents. As a third-culture kid, expat, and mother, I understand how identity, belonging, and transition shape who we become — and how disorienting it can be when the ground shifts beneath us.
Before training as a therapist, I spent over 15 years in the corporate world. It was only when I finally slowed down — and sat in my own therapy — that I understood how much I had been holding. That experience changed everything. It's the reason I do this work.
Today, I offer a space that is warm, culturally attuned, and free of judgement. A place where you can finally put down what you've been carrying — and begin to understand it.
I’d love to share more of my story—and more importantly, walk alongside you in yours.

My Approach
How i work
I take a holistic, person-centred approach grounded in cultural sensitivity and deep respect for each client's lived experience. Every person who comes to me carries a unique story — shaped by culture, history, family, and the particular crossroads they find themselves at. My job is to understand that story, not flatten it.
I work with adults and adolescents navigating challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, identity shifts, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and the particular pressures of cross-cultural and expat life.
Sessions are available in-person in Singapore, or online — supporting clients wherever they are in the world.
Therapeutic approaches I draw from:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Emotional Freedom Techniques / Tapping (EFT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Mindfulness practices
Clinical Hypnotherapy

You might be in the right place if...
You're an expat or third-culture adult navigating identity, belonging, or the fear of displacement
You've always been "the strong one" — and you're exhausted by it
You're going through a major life transition: a career shift, a loss, a move, a relationship change or struggling under the weight of anxiety or grief
You carry the weight of cultural expectations — from family, community, or yourself
You're high-functioning on the outside, but something quietly isn't right
You've never done therapy before and aren't sure where to start — but you know you need somewhere to put this
"Sapna has been so patient with me — never dismissive, never pushy. She really listens. And she respects all my boundaries, which is such a big deal for me. I've shared some of the most vulnerable parts of myself with her, and I never once felt judged or unsafe. I'm really grateful I found her again. She's made this space feel like somewhere I can slowly figure things out without fear."
"Our sessions helped me to reflect on what is truly important to me and that in turn helped me to move towards building a life that is more aligned to my values. Sapna was patient, gentle and i felt really safe to express my thoughts and feelings. She also provided actual tools that i could use outside of sessions, which were really helpful!"
